Litigation & enforcement co-chair Alex Rene has been chosen as a 2020 Rainmaker by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association. This year’s list recognizes 11 diverse attorneys whose business acumen, passion and dedication to proactive client development has set them apart as leaders in the legal profession. The 2020 Rainmakers have a proven record, over the course of several years, of compiling books of business exceeding $5 million annually and contributing significantly to their communities.
Alex is recognized in the industry for his proactive, consistent, and innovative business approach. He has represented some of the world’s largest corporations in high profile and confidential criminal proceedings, and is one of the first federally-appointed FCPA monitors of color. On top of his client work, Alex dedicates countless hours to building a strong community of attorneys of color at Ropes & Gray. As one of the co-chairs of the firm’s litigation & enforcement practice group, a member of the Diversity Committee, co-chair of the Multicultural Forum, and former managing partner of the Washington, D.C. office, Alex’s leadership and mentorship continue to positively impact the firm and will make a difference for years to come.
The 2020 MCCA Rainmakers will be honored at MCCA’s 2020 Creating Pathways to Diversity plenary luncheon in New York on October 27, and its 2020 Diversity Gala in New York on October 28.
