Health care partner Brett Friedman was named to the 2024 Health Care Power 100 list of policymakers and practitioners in City & State New York.
The list identifies the most important public officials, health care leaders and practitioners who are seeking solutions and shaping health care policy and practice in New York.
The article notes that Brett rejoined Ropes & Gray in 2022 after serving as Deputy Commissioner at New York State Department of Health and the State Medicaid Director. In this capacity, Brett led New York’s expansive Medicaid program with an annual budget of over $90 billion that offers comprehensive health coverage to more than 7.4 million New Yorkers as part of an integrated health insurance marketplace.
Brett continues his public service with an appointment to the New York State Commission on the Future of Health Care, where he will help to shape Governor Kathy Hochul’s plan for how the state’s health care system can best serve New Yorkers.
