Bloomberg Law has recognized litigation and enforcement partner Andrew Todres in the 2026 edition of its "They've Got Next: the 40 Under 40" special report, which recognizes the top lawyers in the country under the age of 40 as the next generation of legal leaders. This prestigious list is selected annually by Bloomberg Law's editorial team, which considers attorneys across the entire country and all areas of the law.
Andrew, who represents companies, investment managers, and other sophisticated clients in high-stakes litigation, was recognized for his work as part of the team that helped secure Nippon Steel's historic $14.9 billion partnership with U. S. Steel and defending global investment manager Sculptor Capital against an expedited lawsuit that sought to block its $720 million sale to Rithm Capital. Andrew noted that his work for Nippon Steel was a “career highlight” for him in his profile, stating: “From the moment it was announced, the proposed sale of a storied US institution headquartered in the swing state of Pennsylvania got caught up in the politics of a presidential election cycle and faced extraordinary opposition… Despite all the obstacles, we kept fighting. And in the end, we prevailed. Our efforts led to the first-ever reversal of a US president-ordered CFIUS block, paving the way for the transaction to close.”
When asked about the most important lesson he has learned, Andrew explained the need to "be business minded” given that clients' problems "are complex and multi-dimensional and require delicate and bespoke strategies that are sensitive to any number of 'non-legal' considerations." As for how he measures success, Andrew responded: "based on the results we deliver to clients, the growth of [the] firm's practice, and the development of the more junior lawyers on my teams," adding that "nothing is more thrilling to me in my practice than the moment we learn of a victory for a client. It is why I love to litigate.”
