David B. Hennes Named a Notable Leader in Accounting, Consulting & Law by Crain’s New York Business

Crain’s New York Business honored litigation partner David B. Hennes among the 2026 “Notable Leaders in Accounting, Consulting & Law,” which spotlights New York executives reshaping organizations and client service.

David is a nationally recognized trial lawyer who litigates high-profile corporate disputes for investment banks, private equity firms and public companies in New York and courts across the country. The first litigator to be named one of The American Lawyer’s Dealmakers of the Year (in 2026), David co-chairs Ropes & Gray’s corporate & securities litigation practice and the firm’s investment banking industry group. Among other major and recent successes for clients, David led the team that prosecuted first-of-their-kind claims for Nippon Steel, helping to secure the first-ever reversal of a blocked transaction after review by the Treasury Department’s Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States. He also led the team that secured dismissal of a first-of-its-kind Federal Trade Commission enforcement action against private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, a victory that was the subject of a Wall Street Journal editorial entitled “Another Lina Khan Theory Loses in Court.”
