Ropes & Gray has been named a 'Massachusetts Powerhouse' in Law360's 2026 Regional Powerhouses list, marking the sixth time the firm has earned this recognition and its fourth consecutive inclusion since 2023. The annual list recognizes law firms that demonstrate a significant regional and state presence and that handle high-profile litigation, major transactions, and key local developments.

Law360 highlighted the firm's standing as one of the most active firms in the Massachusetts legal market, noting its role guiding major deals and representing global private equity firms headquartered in Boston. Over the past year, the firm advised on 65 private equity transactions valued at $43 billion for Massachusetts-based private equity clients, shepherded the close of Bain Capital's largest private equity fund to date, and represented Fidelity in a high-stakes dispute. The firm's transactional work was also recognized, including Advent International's agreement to acquire Salt & Stone, and the $1.78 billion sale of Bain portfolio company Evident's inspection technologies division to Wabtec.

"Boston's a pretty special place," said Boston office co-managing partner Jeffrey Katz. "You have world-leading financial services, private equity, healthcare, and life sciences companies in this area." Law360 also highlighted the firm's investment in AI, a commitment reflected in the AI Ascend initiative, which builds native AI fluency across the firm, and the TrAIlblazers program, which lets first-year associates apply a portion of their billable hour requirement to learning AI tools. "We're really spending a lot of time on AI and using it in a way that can complement and enhance the work we're doing for our clients," said co-managing partner Renata J. Ferrari.
