Ropes & Gray Advises Berkshire Partners on $2 Billion Acquisition of Lightower Fiber Networks and Sidera Networks

Ropes & Gray advised Berkshire Partners on its planned acquisition of Lightower Fiber Networks, a metro fiber and bandwidth provider in the Northeast, and Sidera Networks, a provider of tailored, high-capacity communications services to large enterprise, carrier and data center customers. Berkshire Partners, a Boston-based investment firm, announced on Dec. 27 that the companies have signed definitive agreements for a transaction valued at over $2 billion, led by Berkshire Partners and management, to acquire and merge both companies. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2013, pending regulatory approval.
