TPG Growth and Coatue Invest $150 Million in Cloud Storage Startup Box
Ropes & Gray represented TPG Growth in its investment in Box, a cloud-based data storage provider, in a deal announced July 7. TPG Growth and Coatue Management joined to commit $150 million to support Los Altos, Calif.-based Box as it plans an initial public offering. As part of the transaction, TPG Growth will appoint a director to the Box board.
The Ropes & Gray team representing TPG Growth in the transaction included private equity partner Carl Marcellino (New York).
