Ropes & Gray advised middle-market private equity firm BV Investment Partners in its majority investment in geoLOGIC systems ltd., a leading creator and supplier of data and integrated software solutions to oil and gas exploration and production companies in North America. Calgary, Alberta-based geoLOGIC’s global customer base includes oil and gas exploration and production companies, pipeline and midstream companies, service companies, government and regulatory organizations, and educational institutions.
The geoLOGIC investment is the fifth transaction in BV’s Fund VIII. The transaction closed on Oct. 16; financial terms were not disclosed.
The Ropes & Gray team was included finance partner Alexander Zeltser (New York) and tax partner Elaine Murphy (Boston).
