Financial institutions, asset managers and other market-participating firms are rich targets for hackers who continue to adopt increasingly sophisticated methods for stealing sensitive information. And once a firm is hacked, the reputational and financial consequences can be devastating. The DOJ, SEC and DFS, among other authorities and market regulators, have shown a keen interest in post-breach exposure and remediation efforts, pre-breach planning, and the ability of a firm’s existing compliance functions to respond to both external and internal threats. Managing inquiries from authorities and having a strategy that best serves the needs of your business and its clients is crucial. Our panel, composed of leading cyber enforcement and incident response experts, will discuss how to most effectively engage with the DOJ and SEC once a breach has taken place, as well as offer practical advice to reduce the likelihood of an intrusion.
