At Davos World Economic Forum, Intellectual Property Litigator Speaks at Cryptocurrency Event
Intellectual property litigation associate Marta Belcher (Silicon Valley) spoke on a panel at a World Economic Forum satellite event on cryptocurrency in Davos, Switzerland on Jan. 24.
The panel on which she participated examined the laws and the regulations surrounding cryptocurrencies and blockchain (distributed ledger) technology, including intellectual property issues. The panel was hosted by CryptoHQ, which held events on cryptocurrency throughout the weeklong World Economic Forum that were attended by the CEOs of dozens of companies involved in blockchain technology and U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.
Ms. Belcher has been giving presentations about cryptocurrency law since 2016 at events hosted by Stanford Law School, U.C. Berkeley, and FinTech Silicon Valley, among other organizations.
With IP Litigation partner Leslie Spencer (Silicon Valley), Ms. Belcher authored a Law360 article entitled “Defensive Patenting Strategies for Blockchain Innovators.”
