Ropes & Gray Investment Management Attorneys Discuss the SEC’s 2018 Priorities in Fund Board Views and BoardIQ
An article published by Fund Board Views on Feb. 8 titled “Cues for fund directors in OCIE 2018 exam priorities” discusses how mutual fund boards can use the 2018 national examination priorities released by the SEC to organize their own areas of focus this year. The piece includes remarks from investment management partner Paulita Pike. “"There is no question there's a correlation between what OCIE is focusing on and what boards should focus on,” Ms. Pike advises in the piece.
In BoardIQ piece published on Feb. 13 titled “SEC Repeats Exam Priorities but Gets Specific on Funds,” investment management partner Brian McCabe discusses the SEC’s exam priorities pertaining to mutual fund compliance programs. “It’s important to make sure CCOs are appropriately resourced and have access within the organization to folks at a high enough level to make themselves heard,” Mr. McCabe says in the article. “Make sure you continue to be comfortable with resources and reporting lines available to them, particularly when stressors emerge from their particular organization.”
