Ropes & Gray Represents Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe in its Acquisition of Abzena plc
Ropes & Gray represented Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, a leading healthcare investment firm, in its acquisition of Abzena plc, a Cambridge, UK-based biopharmaceutical services company. Under the terms of the acquisition, the deal is valued at approximately £34.4 million on a fully diluted basis, with Abzena shareholders entitled to receive 16 pence per share.
Abzena provides proprietary technologies and complementary services to enable the development and manufacture of biopharmaceutical products. The company offers these services and technologies across its principal sites in Cambridge, UK, San Diego, Calif., and Bristol, Pa.
The Ropes & Gray team included private equity associate Elizabeth Todd and finance associate Nicholas Cusack – all based in the firm’s London office.
