Violetta Kokolus, Leading IP Transactions Partner, Joins Ropes & Gray in New York
Kokolus has Guided Countless IP Transactions and M&A Matters for Established and Emerging Companies
Global law firm Ropes & Gray today announced that Violetta Kokolus has joined the firm’s 350-lawyer New York office as partner in its intellectual property transactions practice.
With 15 years transactional experience representing the world’s leading companies, Ms. Kokolus is a trusted advisor to firms that are navigating complex legal challenges.
She has counseled an extensive number of clients on IP, data privacy and cybersecurity aspects of M&A transactions, including many cross-border deals. Ms. Kokolus also serves as lead counsel on strategic transactions, including acquisitions, licensing matters and collaborations for technology companies in a wide range of industries. These industries include consumer and retail, banking, financial services, asset management, health care, life sciences and education.
In addition, Ms. Kokolus has guided clients on legal issues related to data strategies and monetization, along with the integration of artificial intelligence.

Ms. Kokolus received her J.D. from the University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Commerce with honors from the University of British Columbia. She joins Ropes & Gray from Dechert LLP, where she was partner in the technology and IP transactions practice. She also has previous in-house experience. She was seconded as legal counsel to Apple Inc. in Cupertino, California and Panasonic Corporation in Osaka, Japan.
