Ropes & Gray Advises Teradyne on Acquisition of AutoGuide Mobile Robots

Ropes & Gray advised Teradyne in connection with its acquisition of AutoGuide Mobile Robots, a leading supplier of autonomous mobile robots for material transport for the manufacturing, warehouse and logistics markets. The transaction was announced on Oct. 21 and closed on Nov. 14. The press release is here.

Teradyne acquired privately-held AutoGuide for $165 million, consisting of a $58 million up-front payment plus contingent consideration of up to $107 million. AutoGuide’s advanced products deliver easy deployment, improved safety, reduced costs and increased efficiency of industrial and warehouse material-handling operations.

Teradyne brings high-quality innovations such as smart devices, life-saving medical equipment and data storage systems to market. In 2018, Teradyne posted revenue of $2.1 billion and employs 5,300 people worldwide.
