In a Dow Jones Financial News article, capital markets partner and co-chair Paul Tropp (New York) explained how the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated interest in Special Purpose Acquisition Companies initial public offerings.

Paul notes that SPAC IPOs are viewed as a path to public markets with more protection against volatility and uncertainty. “SPACs give more confidence that a deal can get done at a given valuation without being subject to some of the uncertainties inherent in volatile markets,” said Paul.
