The corporate world is facing intense scrutiny when it comes to setting and meeting environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals. As the political landscape continues to shift, ESG remains critical for companies across industries.

Chong Park, litigation & enforcement partner, told The New York Times’ Dealbook that, “The political environment is chaotic.” Corporate clients are likely to keep quiet on climate goals right now — a trend known as “green hushing” — unless environmentalism is essential to their branding.

“People are just waiting for the dust to settle. That’s where green hushing is coming in,” said Chong. “They’re just exercising caution.”
