Kelsey Barrett is a lawyer in the asset management group. She focuses her practice on the representation of investment management industry clients, including ETFs, mutual funds, investment advisers, and boards of independent trustees on a wide range of regulatory and transactional matters arising under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and related federal securities laws.
Kelsey counsels clients on fund launches, fund reorganizations, mergers and liquidations, and compliance with evolving regulatory requirements. Her work spans the full lifecycle of registered fund products, from initial formation and SEC registration through day-to-day operational and governance matters. In the ETF space, Kelsey advises investment advisers on the development and launch of new ETF products. She also assists clients with ongoing board governance and disclosure obligations.
During law school, Kelsey participated in the Community Enterprise Clinic, where she represented small businesses and entrepreneurs in the Greater Boston area. Kelsey was also a senior editor for the Boston College Law Review.
