Marc Biamonte is a partner in the firm’s asset management group and head of the private funds practice. He focuses on the formation and operation of private investment funds, with particular experience advising general partners on fundraising strategy and execution. Marc represents sponsors across the full spectrum of fund sizes—from $150 million to $20 billion—and across a broad range of strategies, including buyout, fund of funds, venture capital, hedge, secondary, and other specialized investment vehicles.
Marc is recognized for his ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, practical guidance. U.S. News – Best Lawyers highlighted this strength in connection with naming the firm “Law Firm of the Year” for Private Funds Law, noting his delivery of “concrete and actionable advice.” Clients value Marc’s thoughtful, consensus-driven approach to negotiations and his focus on achieving commercial objectives. Marc’s broader perspective on the private funds industry is informed by his combined legal and accounting background. In addition to fund formation matters, he advises investment advisers on Investment Advisers Act compliance and represents investment management firms and their principals in strategic transactions, including spin-offs. Prior to attending law school, Marc was a certified public accountant and management consultant at PwC.
