Édouard has extensive experience in the formation and structuring of private equity, infrastructure, private debt and real estate investment funds across multiple jurisdictions. He frequently advises on fund platforms and vehicles in Luxembourg, Scotland, Jersey, the US and France, helping sponsors and investors navigate evolving legal and tax frameworks and execute strategies efficiently across borders.

Édouard is widely recognized as one of France’s leading tax practitioners and has served as a trusted advisor to corporations, private equity firms, and investment banks throughout Europe for more than 25 years. He brings deep experience in both French and international tax law, with a particular focus on the tax structuring of complex cross-border corporate, banking, and capital markets transactions, including leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, and real estate acquisitions.

Additionally, Édouard is a member of the tax committee of France Invest, the professional organization for private equity in France, and was instrumental in drafting the legislation that introduced limited partnerships into French law. He has also served as the French representative member on the tax committee of Invest Europe and has chaired this committee from 2021 to 2024.

Experience

  • Advised Ardian, a global private investment firm, on an agreement with a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (“ADIA”), to launch a new real estate secondaries platform.
  • Represented Ardian in its $30 billion fundraising for Ardian Secondary Fund IX, the world’s largest-ever secondaries platform. *
  • Represented Ardian in the set-up and marketing of its sixth generation of European infrastructure fund, representing a total platform of $20 billion. *
  • Represented Ardian and an investment structure in the formation of Hy24, the world’s largest clean hydrogen infrastructure investment platform. *
  • Represented Infranity in their launch of their Enhanced Return Debt Fund.
  • Represented Capza in the fund raising of its fifth private debt fund, Capza 5 Private Debt, with an investment capacity of €1.6 billion. *
  • Represented My Money Bank in the tax structuring of their acquisition of the French retail bank of HSBC. *
  • Represented a dairy industry group on the tax aspects of its entry into exclusive negotiations with Lactalis to sell the Leerdammer brand and all related rights, and in the public buy-out tender offer filed by Unibel for Bel and the subsequent squeeze-out of Bel’s minority shareholders. *
  • Represented Webhelp, a leading global provider of customer experience and business solutions, in the tax structuring of its acquisition of Onelink, an innovator in digitally enabled CX, BPO, and technology services across the United States, Europe, and Latin America. *
