Jason Claman is an associate in the litigation and enforcement practice group. He advises clients on all aspects of antitrust and competition matters, including antitrust litigation, merger review, and government investigations. He has experience with matters involving the Federal Trade Commission, the U.S. Department of Justice, and state authorities. Jason also maintains an active pro bono practice, with a focus on civil rights litigation.
During law school, Jason was executive editor of the NYU Journal of Legislation and Public Policy and served as treasurer of NYU OUTLaw. He also worked as a clinical intern at the Brennan Center and interned at the National Labor Relations Board. Prior to law school, Jason worked at a leading economic consulting firm, providing economic analysis on competition issues and litigation matters.

Representative Antitrust Matters:
- Represented Johns Hopkins University in a class action antitrust lawsuit brought by undergraduate students against 17 universities on behalf of similarly situated plaintiffs. The lawsuit alleges a federal antitrust violation based on certain financial aid information-sharing practices.
- Represented Nippon Steel Corporation in antitrust aspects of its definitive agreement to acquire U.S. Steel for $14.9 billion.
- Advised PharmScript, a long-term care specialty pharmacy, on its sale to Optum Rx.
- Advised Bloomberg on a strategic transaction with Viridios AI, a carbon markets data and analytics provider.
- Advised JenaValve Technology, a cardiac device startup, on its acquisition by Edwards Lifesciences.
- Advised a global leader in medical technologies in the sale of its U.S. core spine business to an investment company.
Representative Pro Bono Matters:
- In partnership with Protect Democracy, represented various individual plaintiffs in challenging Florida’s HB 7, the Stop WOKE Act, on its free speech restrictions on employee trainings in Florida. Secured a preliminary injunction at the district court and affirmance at the Eleventh Circuit.
- In partnership with the Lawyers’ Committee, represent the Virginia NAACP in its suit against the Governor in a Virginia FOIA case regarding compliance with state antidiscrimination laws.
