Greg is a partner in the firm’s asset management group, managing partner of the San Francisco office, and co-leader of the firm’s alternative retail and asset management M&A initiatives. He advises leading investment managers, fund sponsors, and financial institutions across the full lifecycle of mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, interval and tender offer funds, and privately offered investment vehicles—from fund formation and structuring through ongoing Investment Company Act of 1940 compliance. Ranked by Chambers both globally and in the United States, as well as by IFLR1000 and Legal 500, Greg is widely recognized for his deep experience with retail alternatives, including interval and tender offer fund formation, registered alternative fund structuring, and the integration of alternative assets such as private credit, private equity, and real assets into 40 Act registered fund wrappers. He also leads complex mergers and acquisitions involving asset management firms, including strategic investments in private markets managers.

- Advised T. Rowe Price on the launch of the T. Rowe Price Goldman Sachs Private Markets Fund, a first-of-its-kind registered fund providing retail investors access to Goldman Sachs’ private equity, private credit, and real assets strategies.
- Represented State Street Investment Management on its strategic minority investment in Coller Capital, one of the world’s largest dedicated private market secondaries managers.
- Represents AMG and several of its affiliated or sponsored entities in the full range of investment management matters, including representing AMG Funds, and Parnassus Funds and ETFs with respect to ongoing compliance, the organization of new registered funds, fund investments in derivatives, and assistance with board relations.
- Represents the Independent Trustees of the Schwab Funds and ETFs, the Independent Directors of the Dodge & Cox Funds, and the Independent Trustees of the American Century Funds in fund governance and board related matters.
- Represents Stone Ridge Asset Management in a variety of different matters, including new fund offerings and day-to-day compliance advice.
- Represents Pantheon, AlpInvest, Ardian, Meketa, and several other fund sponsors in the organization and compliance maintenance of their alternative retail registered funds.
- Represents Western Asset Management with respect to the ongoing offering and operation of its U.S. hedge fund complex.
- Advises private equity firms and financial institutions on asset management mergers and acquisitions, including platform acquisitions and strategic minority investments.
