Danielle Gray Jankowich is a senior funds attorney practicing in the private funds investment group. She works with institutional and other investors (including sovereign wealth funds, funds-of-funds, endowments and private foundations) in connection with their investment in alternative assets, including investments in private funds, separately managed accounts, co-investments and other private investment opportunities.
Danielle has over 20 years of experience in the asset management and private funds industries in both legal and investing roles. Prior to joining Ropes & Gray in 2021, Danielle was as an associate at a Boston-based law firm for five years in the private funds group, where she represented hedge fund and private equity funds. She then worked for 13 years at Grantham, Mayo & van Otterloo LLC (GMO) in their natural resources investment arm in a hybrid legal/business role. At GMO, she was involved in the formation, fundraising and capital deployment of over $2B in capital in investments throughout the U.S., Latin America and Australasia. She was also responsible for overseeing day to day legal matters for the portfolio investments providing practical, business-oriented solutions. Following her tenure at GMO, Danielle was a director in the private investments team at Liberty Mutual Investments and co-founded a natural capital impact investing firm.
