Evelyn Jackson is an associate practicing in the firm’s health care group. She counsels health care companies, academic medical centers, hospitals, and higher education institutions on federal funding, enforcement risks, and a broad range of regulatory matters. She also has experience advising clients on transactional matters, including regulatory due diligence, compliance counseling, and post-closing support for strategic transactions.

While in law school, Evelyn served as an editor of the Boston College Law Review and worked as a teaching assistant to Professor Steve Koh. She also secured parole for two incarcerated people in the Compassionate Release and Parole Clinic.

Scientific Research and Development Regulatory Matters

  • Counseled academic medical centers and higher education institutions regarding allegations of research misconduct and other issues relating to the integrity or reliability of scientific data and plagiarism.
  • Counseled academic medical centers and higher education institutions through appeals processes to challenge federal award terminations.
  • Advised academic medical center and university clients regarding individual and institutional conflict of interest issues, including “foreign influence” matters.
  • Represented clients in False Claims Act investigations involving research funding and other regulatory risks.

Transactions

  • Counseled academic medical centers, institutions of higher education, and health care systems on academic affiliations, research collaborations, and research compliance.
  • Represented a top health system in its acquisition of a regional health system to create a combined system.

Pro Bono

  • Evelyn provided advice to an international NGO on the applicability of the so-called “Mexico City Policy” and the 2026 expansion of the Mexico City Policy, known as the Promoting Human Flourishing in Foreign Assistance Policy.
  • Evelyn represented immigration clients in removal proceedings and has obtained grants of asylum, special immigrant juvenile status, and permanent residency for clients.  Evelyn has also assisted in completing various immigration applications, including applications for U Visa, VAWA, and naturalization.
