Nicolas is an associate in the tax and asset management practices. He joined Ropes & Gray’s Paris office in 2026. Before joining Ropes & Gray, he worked as an associate in the tax and investment funds practices of another global law firm where he had the opportunity to be seconded to the energy & infrastructure practice in Paris and to the tax practice in Munich.
Nicolas advises clients on domestic and international tax matters, particularly in the tax structuring of corporate and finance transactions. He also advises private investment funds through all stages of a fund’s life cycle (including on the formation and fundraising of such funds, as well as on related operational matters).
Experience
- Advised Ardian in the set-up and marketing of its sixth generation of European infrastructure fund, representing a total platform of $20 billion.*
- Represented Ardian on the deployment of an evergreen purpose-built student accommodation platform.*
- Represented a bank on the structuring of a subscription facility.*
- Represented a bank on the structuring of a NAV facility.*
- Advised a dairy industry group on the tax aspects of the public buy-out tender offer filed by Unibel for Bel and the subsequent squeeze-out of Bel’s minority shareholders.*
- Advised a major mining player in relation to a landmark mining and associated infrastructure projects in West Africa.*
- Advised My Money Bank in the tax structuring of their acquisition of the French retail bank of HSBC.*
- Represented the sponsor on the tax aspects of the refinancing of a wind and solar portfolio.*
- Counseled a French private equity firm specialized in real assets on the deployment of a joint venture with a French telecommunications company aimed to develop data centers.*
