India Mazzarelli joined Ropes & Gray’s litigation department in 2023. During law school, India worked in-house at a Boston biotech company and interned for the Criminal Division at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts. India also served as a teaching assistant to Dean Patrick Shin’s Torts course. Prior to law school, India worked as a corporate paralegal at Ropes & Gray.

Government, Internal and Sensitive Investigations
- Conducted an in-depth sensitive investigation on behalf of an elite university into an athletic team in connection with allegations of misconduct in violation of NCAA rules.
- Representing a leading provider of cloud-based software in responding to a large-scale data-breach stemming from a cyber-attack.
- Representing a value-based care company in an FCA investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice into whether the company caused the submission of improper diagnosis codes to the Medicare Advantage program.
- Representing healthcare companies in DOJ investigations of alleged False Claims Act violations and in qui tam lawsuits.
- Conducts pre-acquisition diligence and litigation-related risk analysis for corporate and private equity clients.
- Represented Legends Hospitality, a sports and entertainment premium experiences company, in its acquisition of ASM Global to create a global live events company. The transaction closed following antitrust review and investigation by the Department of Justice, including a Second Request.
- Represented clients in responding to Second Requests from the DOJ and FTC relating to high-profile transactions in the steel and healthcare industries.
Civil Litigation
- Represents hospital in resolving claims related to allegations of sexual abuse by former physician employee.
- Represents a major financial institution and its subsidiary in a class action brought on behalf of users of an electronic trading platform for foreign exchange transactions. Plaintiffs bring claims in the Southern District of New York for antitrust violations under the Sherman Act, RICO, and fraud, as well as other New York common law claims.
- Represents a major financial institution in international arbitration concerning dispute with majority owner of Latin American telecommunications company and related litigation, resulting in multiple favorable awards that have been confirmed by the Southern District of New York.
- Represented corporate clients in expedited litigation in Delaware Chancery Court.

- Representing man convicted of murder in appeal concerning scope of Massachusetts statute providing for post-conviction DNA testing.
