Sarah McLaughlin is a senior attorney in the asset management group. She focuses her practice on representing registered investment companies, their independent directors/trustees and investment advisers in regulatory, transactional and compliance matters. She has significant experience regarding the creation, registration and operation of new and existing investment products, including mutual funds, closed-end funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) designed for institutional or retail investors. She also has experience advising collective investment trusts (CITs) and their managing trust companies.
Prior to rejoining Ropes & Gray in 2025, Sarah served on the in-house legal teams of premier asset managers working on a broad range of retail and institutional products including registered funds, collective investment trusts and private funds. Her experience includes the establishment, organization and registration of new fund products, negotiation of fund agreements, and the implementation of novel rules and regulations, as well as day-to-day oversight of compliance and board matters.
Sarah served as an associate in Ropes & Gray’s asset management group from 2014 to 2019.
