Manish joined Ropes & Gray’s corporate department in 2023. His practice focuses on intellectual property transactions.

Manish earned his law degree from Penn Carey Law, where he served as co-president of the Penn Intellectual Property Group, executive editor of the Journal of Law & Innovation, and external relations chair for the South Asian Law Students Association. He also served as a student counselor for the Detkin Intellectual Property and Technology Legal Clinic, which provides pro bono transactional IP counsel. Before law school, Manish earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.

Manish served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Amos L. Mazzant III for the Eastern District of Texas. He also is a registered patent agent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Experience

  • Represented Patient Square Capital and Eargo in Eargo's completed merger with hearX, maker of Lexie hearing aids.
  • Represented Eli Lilly in a $2.5 billion agreement to acquire Scorpion Therapeutics and its PI3Kα programs, including its oral therapy STX-478, which is being tested in clinical trials for breast cancer and other advanced solid tumors. 
  • Represented Audax Private Equity in its acquisition of the Clinical Services business of Avantor Inc. Clinical Services provides clinical trial and laboratory supply chain services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, contract research organizations (CROs), and diagnostic laboratories.
  • Represented DIRECTV in an agreement to acquire EchoStar's video distribution business DISH, including DISH TV and Sling TV, through a debt exchange transaction.
  • Advised Good Springs Capital LP in its investment in Tectonic Engineering Consultants, Geologists & Land Surveyors, D.P.C and affiliates, a leading multi-disciplined engineering firm focused on the transportation, telecommunications, energy, and water infrastructure end markets.
