Rory Skowron joined Ropes & Gray's litigation and enforcement practice group in 2021. He regularly represents clients in administrative litigation, business disputes, antitrust matters, securities litigation, and appeals. 

From 2022 to 2023, Rory was a law clerk to the Honorable Raymond Gruender of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in St. Louis, Missouri.

During law school, Rory served as executive articles editor of the Boston College Law Review, a teaching and research assistant, and an intern for judges of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

  • Representing registered funds in Administrative Procedure Act challenge to U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission regulation in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. 
  • Representing pharmaceutical research company in employment-related appeal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. 
  • Secured affirmance of dismissal of securities class action complaint against consortium of underwriters in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
  • Secured affirmance and presented oral argument on behalf of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families in parental rights litigation in the Massachusetts Appeals Court.
  • Represented private equity firm in securing dismissals of major healthcare-related antitrust enforcement action brought by the Federal Trade Commission and related private class action complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
  • Represented manufacturer in administrative dispute with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency concerning alleged Clean Air Act violations.
  • Represented real estate developer in state administrative proceeding and related litigation against state agencies concerning remediation of asbestos-containing material.
