Ropes & Gray is representing The Timberland Company in its proposed acquisition by branded lifestyle apparel company VF Corporation for $43 per share, announced June 13. The total value of the merger is approximately $2 billion.
The deal team was led by Boston-based partner Jane Goldstein and included Boston-based partners Jonathan Zorn (benefits), Eric Elfman (tax) and Ed Black (IP), and associates Zach Blume (corporate) and Jenny Rikoski (benefits).
Readers of Footwear News, a sister publication of Women’s Wear Daily, ranked VF’s acquisition of Timberland as the industry’s most significant deal of 2011 in a recent poll.
