A cross-practice, cross-office Ropes & Gray team advised Genstar Capital, a leading private equity firm based in San Francisco, in its carve-out acquisition from LexisNexis of Insurity, a leading provider of software and services to the property and casualty insurance industry, announced on Nov. 8.
Insurity, headquartered in Hartford, Conn., provides policy administration, claims, billing, and analytics software to more than 100 insurance companies. Insurity customers, who write personal lines and commercial lines insurance, represent over $12 billion of commercial insurance premiums processed through the Insurity suite of products.
The Ropes & Gray team was led by private equity transaction partner Howard Glazer (San Francisco) and included benefits partner Loretta Richard (Boston) and IP transactions counsel Tom Burke (New York).
