A cross-practice team of Ropes & Gray attorneys is representing State Street Corp. in its $550 million cash acquisition of Goldman Sachs Administration Services, a leading hedge fund administrator from The Goldman Sachs Group. The transaction is expected to be finalized early in the fourth quarter of 2012 pending regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. The acquisition establishes State Street as the largest hedge fund administrator globally with $877 billion under administration as of June 30, 2012.
