Ropes & Gray advised TransFirst Inc., a Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe portfolio company, in both its planned initial public offering and its eventual sale to Vista Equity Partners. TransFirst filed for an IPO on July 30, and the sale of the company was announced Oct. 13. TransFirst, based in Hauppauge, N.Y., is one of the largest electronic payment processing providers in the United States.
