As part of a Feb. 3 event organized by the Directors Roundtable Institute, in partnership with Ropes & Gray and StoneTurn Group, business & securities litigation partner Randall Bodner participated in a panel discussion at the Cornell Club-New York that enabled a cross-section of government and private sector panelists to examine key international enforcement issues for c-suites and boards.
Using practical scenarios, the panel discussed effective strategies for managing the associated business and legal risks, as well as on how to handle a crisis. The speakers also considered the added complexity of white collar liability for directors and officers, the international reach of investigations, and strategies for handling simultaneous inquiries from multiple regulators. In addition to Randy Bodner (as moderator), the panel included:
- Amelia Cottrell, Associate Regional Director, New York Regional Office, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission;
- Christina Dugger, Managing Director, Associate General Counsel, JP Morgan Chase; Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York; and
- Simon Platt, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, StoneTurn Group; Former Leader, Deloitte’s New York/Boston Dispute Consulting Practice
