Ropes & Gray represented U.S. Acute Care Solutions (USACS) in connection with its partnership with Tampa Bay Emergency Physicians (TBEP). TBEP employs 45 board-certified emergency medicine physicians and 30 physician assistants and nurse practitioners who provide care to nearly 200,000 patients annually through the Florida Hospital system in Tampa, Fla.
The transaction was announced Dec. 22 and is expected to close by year-end subject to customary closing conditions.
Established in May by Emergency Medicine Physicians and Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, USACS’s mission is to provide resources, business and capital support to today’s physician groups through a platform that is majority owned by physicians. USACS has aggressively expanded its national footprint with co-founders EPPH, MEP Health and TBEP.
The Ropes & Gray team included tax partner Leo Arnaboldi, health care partner Timothy McCrystal, and executive compensation & employee benefits partner Alexandra Alperovich.
