Ropes & Gray advised U.S. Acute Care Solutions (USACS), a national leader in emergency medicine and hospitalist services, in connection with its partnership with MEP Health, an emergency physician practice that serves nine facilities across three states in the mid-Atlantic region.
Established in May 2015 by Emergency Medicine Physicians and Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, USACS is a focused on becoming the national leader in emergency medicine and hospitalist services. USACS offers emergency medicine groups a strategic partnership by providing business support, industry resources and capital backing.
Based in Maryland, U.S., MEP Health has 130 board-certified emergency medicine physicians and 110 physician assistants and nurse practitioners who provide care to more than 500,000 patients annually.
The transaction between USACS and MEP Health was announced Nov. 19 and is expected to close by year-end subject to customary closing conditions.
The Ropes & Gray team included tax partner Leo Arnaboldi, health care partner Timothy McCrystal and executive compensation & employee benefits partner Alexandra Alperovich.
