Ropes & Gray represented Infront Sports & Media AG in its purchase of Omnigon Communications LLC, a New York-based multinational provider of digital solutions to leaders in the sports, media and entertainment industries. Switzerland-based Infront is one of the world’s leading sports marketing and media companies; in 2015, it became part of Dalian Wanda Group, a Chinese conglomerate with approximately $90 billion in assets.
Infront’s 51-percent stake acquisition in Omnigon, announced Jan. 20, supports the full deployment of Infront Digital Solutions, providing services from one central source across the digital ecosystem and value chain – including strategy and monetization, technology and content creation. Omnigon will retain its current brand identity and continue to operate as a stand-alone entity.
The Ropes & Gray team was co-led by special situations partner Jonathan Gill (New York), and included tax partner Leo Arnaboldi (New York) and labor & employment partner Megan Bisk (Boston).
