Six New York City public high school students interned with Ropes & Gray’s New York office from July 17-20 as part of the Legal Outreach program. Legal Outreach gives New York City youth from underserved communities educational support and exposure to the legal profession, and facilitates their pursuit of higher education. The firm has been a partner of Legal Outreach for 30 years.
During their four days at the New York office, the interns worked closely with attorneys and staff. They were assigned to mentors and learned about the practice of law, professional life at a large law firm, and the demands and opportunities of a legal career. They also learned about the legal issues involved in a U.S. Supreme Court case and the interns presented oral arguments on July 20 to conclude their week at the firm.
