Health care partner John Chesley (San Francisco) and health care associate Elizabeth Whitkin (Boston) authored a Nov. 16 article in Law360 that examines California’s new law enacting certain drug pricing transparency measures.
The authors explain that the law imposes significant new reporting requirements on drug manufacturers, health insurers and health plans, and mandates state agencies to report to the public about drug price increases and their effects on health care insurance premiums.
While there has been no major federal legislative action, the article analyzes several related state laws in Vermont, Nevada and Maryland that respond to growing consumer concerns about prescription drug pricing.
