On August 4 and 5, a Ropes & Gray Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) team biked 192 miles through difficult weather across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to raise money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Boston’s Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Founded in 1980, the PMC is a two-day, cycling fundraising event that that today raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. The PMC contributes 100% of every dollar raised by riders directly to Dana Farber.
This year’s Ropes & Gray team included 26 current Ropes & Gray attorneys and support team members, together with a number of additional alumni and family and friends of riders. Collectively, the team raised more than $186,000. Over $2 million has been raised by Ropes & Gray teams for the Pan-Mass Challenge to benefit cancer research.
The effort was led by private equity partner Al Rose, organized by private equity associate Christian Westra and real estate associate Michael Allen, and included members of a cross-office team of volunteers and cyclists.
