Ropes & Gray represented Gridiron Capital, an investment firm focused on partnering with founders, entrepreneurs, and management teams, on Gridiron Capital Fund IV ("Gridiron IV"). Gridiron IV and its affiliated Funds announced its final close on Dec. 17, reaching its hard-cap at $1.35 billion.
With a broad base of distinguished investors including pension funds, insurance companies, family offices, endowments, and foundations, Gridiron IV was significantly oversubscribed and is the largest flagship fund in the firm's history. Similar to prior funds, Gridiron IV will target control, equity investments in North America with a focus on branded consumer, B2B and B2C services, and niche industrial businesses.
The Ropes & Gray team was led by asset management partner and buyout funds team leader Deb Lussier, and included private capital transactions partner Paul Van Houten, tax partner Adam Greenwood, asset management associates J.R. Ames and Sean Foley, and tax associates Kathryn Seevers and Alexa Voskerichian.
