Ropes & Gray advised Eversource Energy in the sale of its 50% interest in a 175,000-acre offshore lease area to Danish energy company Ørsted. The $625 million all-cash transaction was announced in a May 25 press release.
Eversource, an electricity and water utility serving customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, will use the proceeds from the sale to provide tax equity for the South Fork Wind project off the coast of Rhode Island.
