Ropes & Gray advised TransMedics Group Inc., a medical technology company transforming organ transplant therapy for patients with end-stage lung, heart and liver failure, in its acquisition from Bridge to Life Ltd., of assets and intellectual property related to the Ex-Vivo Organ Support System (EVOSS) and LifeCradle Heart Preservation Transport System technologies.
EVOSS is a warm perfusion technology designed for lung and heart transplantation and LifeCradle is a cold perfusion technology designed for heart transplantation. TransMedics plans to further develop these innovative technologies and incorporate them into its next-generation OCS technology platform as it expands its product offerings and indications for organ transplantation. The transaction was announced on August 2. Financial terms were not disclosed.
