In Westlaw Today, health care partner Christine Moundas and health care associates Gideon Palte and Carolyn Lye examine a new proposed rule from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services "to deter health care providers from engaging in information blocking."

The authors note that if finalized, the proposed appropriate disincentives would introduce real consequences for health care providers that engage in information blocking and would represent one of the last outstanding pieces of information blocking enforcement nearly seven years after enactment of the 21st Century Cures Act.
