Kohlberg Sells Stake in GPRS to Roark Capital

Ropes & Gray advised Kohlberg & Company in the sale of the majority of its stake in GPRS Holdings to Roark Capital. The transaction was announced in a Jan. 13 press release.

Kohlberg is a leading U.S. middle market private equity firm based in Mount Kisco, New York. The firm invests in companies characterized by strong brands, recurring revenue streams and leading market positions. As of Sept. 30, Kohlberg manages approximately $15 billion on behalf of institutional investors globally.

GPRS provides subsurface damage prevention, existing conditions documentation, and facility management solutions to utilities, contractors, engineers, and businesses in every major market in the United States. The company is headquartered in Maumee, Ohio.

The team included private equity partners Doug Giannantonio and Andrew Silver, private equity associate Brooke Szalapski, executive compensation & employee benefits partner Jenny Rikoski Whitney, tax partners Brandon Dunn and Aaron Harsh, finance partner Andrea Hwang, IP transactions partner Jordan Altman, employment partner Doug Brayley, and litigation & enforcement partner Jonathan Klarfeld.
