Ropes & Gray has advised global alternative asset management firm GCM Grosvenor, on behalf of funds it manages, on its investment in Zenzic Capital – a specialist real estate credit and special situations investment firm with over $325 million in assets under management – including GCM Grosvenor’s anchor investment in the newly launched Zenzic Real Estate Credit Opportunities Fund.
The Fund has a differentiated strategy to access the $3 trillion European real estate credit market and is structured as an evergreen Jersey vehicle to target investments comprising a mix of short-duration high yield tactical credits, medium-term positions that finance value creation, and select special situation opportunities.
GCM Grosvenor anchored Zenzic’s Fund with capital it manages on behalf of, among other clients, large U.S. pension plans’ emerging manager programs.
The Ropes & Gray team was led from London by asset management partner Tom Alabaster with support from associates Katerina Kirimli and Ally Peterman; finance counsel Ana Biloglav and associate Chad Parkinson; and tax partner Andrew Howard and associate Matthew Parsons.
