Ropes & Gray’s New York co-managing partners, Eva Carman and John Sorkin, highlighted strategic growth and client-focused innovation as 2026 priorities in a recent Law360 feature. John and Eva discussed how the firm is targeting expansion in M&A, private equity, asset management, healthcare, life sciences, and litigation and enforcement, and the plans to move the New York office in 2028.
Discussing technology and client value, Eva and John emphasized that the firm’s AI strategy extends beyond internal efficiency to bespoke client solutions. “We already co-design proprietary tools with leading private equity and asset management clients, and many tell us our approach surpasses their own because we combine deep legal analysis with technological sophistication,” they said.
Looking ahead to increasingly cross‑border matters, they noted the benefits of “real-time translation” and knowledge sharing, adding, “Firms that convert AI-enabled insight into bespoke client value, and scale transactional depth, especially in M&A, will lead.”
