Ropes & Gray has advised growth-oriented equity investment firm Valeas Capital Partners on its strategic investment in the UK's leading at-retirement adviser, My Pension Expert. As part of the transaction, Palatine Private Equity will exit following a successful four-year partnership.
My Pension Expert, a mission-driven certified B Corporation, is dedicated to addressing the UK's persistent "advice gap" by providing regulated, individualised retirement advice to mass-market consumers in the UK. As the leading scaled provider targeting this underserved segment, the firm has achieved significant growth by meeting the increasingly complex needs of mass-market savers who can't otherwise access financial advice.
The Ropes & Gray team was led by private equity partner Elizabeth Todd, finance partner Alex Robb, and tax partner Chris Agnoli, with support from private equity associates Joshua Nicholson, Callum Flanagan, and Lucrezia Cavuto, and trainee Madeleine Matthews, finance associates Chad Parkinson, Hoey Lee, and Imogen Galilee, asset management partner Eve Ellis and associate Lewis Hammond, and tax associates Charlie Voisey and George Longworth. The deal is expected to be completed later this year pending approval from the Financial Conduct Authority.
