In a New York Times DealBook article, partner and head of practice AI Howard Glazer discussed how demand is growing across law firms, legal tech vendors and in-house legal departments for lawyers with AI skills.
At the end of last year, Ropes & Gray hired the first of its five practice innovation attorneys, "role which the current environment just screams for," and is a position that is "absolutely growing," Howard noted.
Howard also explained that the role reflects a basic change in how legal services are delivered: “In the old days, there was technology and there was law. But now we provide our service and provide our product using [AI] tools."
