Ropes & Gray won the award for “Deal of the Year 2011” from Latin Lawyer Magazine for its representation of the second priority note holders in the restructuring of Satélites Mexicanos, S.A. de C.V., a provider of mission critical satellite services in the Americas. The Ropes & Gray team involved in the deal was led by business restructuring partner Mark Bane and corporate partner Patrick Diaz. Other attorneys involved in the deal included Boston-based finance partner Win Minot, private equity partner Craig Marcus, tax & benefits partners Renata Ferrari and David Saltzman and associates Minh-Chau Le and Alex Zeltser.
The winners of the awards were announced at the 6th annual charity awards ceremony held March 29 in Sao Paulo. Winners were also recognized in other areas including: corporate finance, project finance, M&A, outbound investment, and disputes.
