Ropes & Gray was named a winner for “Restructuring Deal of the Year” at the International Financial Law Review Asia Awards 2018 for its role in the Mongolian Mining Corporation restructuring. Our team represented the steering committee of bondholders in the restructuring.
The complex, cross-border bank bond restructuring deal was valued at $800 million and was said to be the biggest restructuring deal by value since the debt plan of Chinese developer Kaisa Group in 2015. Notably, Ropes & Gray previously received extensive recognition for its involvement in the restructuring of Kaisa Group, including “Restructuring Deal of the Year” at the IFLR Asia Awards in 2016.
